In Illiosis, the structural engineer, Michael Schoefield  gets an elaborate tattoo on all over his body and starts to destroy all notes and documents in his office and then moves calmly into the bank and then hold it up . Later in the trial he shows no defence foe him and seems to voluntarily be going to prison at Fox River State Penitentiary, in Joliet. In prison he friends himself with an inmate named Fernando Sucre and discloses him that he is the brother of  one of the fellow inmates.

The name of that inmate is Lincoln Burrows who is on death row on the charges of murder of vice president’s brother but he believes that he is innocent. He also discloses that he has a some sort of a plan . The plan involves that he will pretend that he is a diabetic patient so he needs to go to infirmary for the insulin injections. In this way he will be dangling information about an informant in witness in front of a mob boss, and striking a friendly relationship with an elderly con rumoured to be D.B.Cooper. Meanwhile, Bishop McMorrow, who is a close friend of governor and intends to claim life of Lincoln is found murdered in his bedroom during the night, indicating that political conspiracy is involved. This episode is engaging showing that an innocent man is imprisoned and he makes a scheme to release his younger brother.
