In this episode of Dexter season one, Dexter goes deep into the investigation of a murder case of an officer who was also a crime investigation officer. For this purpose, he assists two special detectives - Batista and Doakes. Character of detective Batista is played by David Zayas and character of Doakes is played by Erik King.

Detective Doakes has an affair with the wife of Officer and she has also been attacked. Thats why Doakes is more involved in the case. Further, in the show, Dexter’s sister Debra Morgan who has been promoted to the Homicide Department by her senior officer Lt. Maria LaGuerta, found a refrigerated truck in which the murderer (Ice Truck Killer) wrenches the victims. When they were inspecting the truck, Dexter, Debra and Batista found a piece of ice block inside which the murderer have stored five fingertips.
