All these clues lead to search of a hostage which is identified as Debra. Yes Debra is kept as a hostage by none other than her own boyfriend Rudy. It is revealed that Rudy himself is the Ice Truck Killer.

Rudy, as Ice Truck Killer, abducts her own girlfriend to play mind games with Dexter and asks him to find her. When Dexter is successful in finding Debra, Rudy reveals connection between himself and that of Dexter. It is revealed that Rudy actually is Brian Moiser who is long lost biological brother of Dexter.Meanwhile, the cold war between Lt. Laguerta and her new replacement Lt. Esmee Pascal converts to one on one argument. Lt Esmee Pascal is even more dictorial and arrogant than her senior Captain Matthews. New replacement Lt. Esmee Pascal does not care about the evidences or clues of this case thus hampening the case even more just to advance her career.Finally Sergeant Doakes comes to one on one with Dexter regarding his relation and connection with Ice Truck Killer which Dexter has always denied of. Paul who is again back in prison tries to convince her wife Rita to keep herself and her children away from Dexter. To convince her he even tells her that it was Dexter who made drug charges against him.
