In this episode of gossip girl it is shown that as Gossip girl posts news about the Cotillion Party that is going to take place on this weekend, Blaire decides against going with Nate. She finds herself in news in New York Times and is enjoying her secret relationship with Chuck. Serena also decides that she is not going but then her grandmother approaches her to change her mind. Meanwhile, Jenny volunteers for the ball and Lily takes her under her wing. But the night of Cotillion is first night of Alison art opening.

Rufus and Alison informs Jenny that she cannot attend the ball. But Jenny decides that she is going to go against their will and will attend the dance without their knowledge. Refreshed by the Blaire’s new buoyant attitude, Nate decides to again propose her for the ball and she accepts it, which makes Chuck jealous. CeCe meets Lily and Serena and informs them that she is suffering from lung cancer and her last wish before dying is to see Serena go to the ball, that too with wealthy Carter. The snobbish Cece instantly dislikes Dan and offers Rufus to pay him for the purpose that Serena does not go with Dan. Dan gets to know about this and informs about this to Serena that her grandmother tried to bribe his father. But Serena refuses to believe what Dan said.
